Alpine Skiing

What is it?

It is the action of travelling over snow on skis. The goal in a ski race is to get down the course with the fastest time out of all the competitors. A race comprises of two runs, each run being a different course. Then, they take your times from your first and second runs and combine them. The competitor with the fastest combined time wins the race. There are six different disciplines: slalom, giant slalom, super-g, downhill, the combined, and the team event. With slalom being the slowest with the most turns and downhill being the fastest with the biggest turns. For more information view the videos or the links below.
